Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman was waiting to greet President Obama on the tarmac after Air Force One landed at McCarran Airport on Monday.

Goodman said she was honored to welcome the president, but only had one thing on her mind: promoting Las Vegas.

She said the president's negative remarks about Las Vegas that upset her husband are a thing of the past.

"I told him the slate is brand new and clean," Carolyn Goodman said.

The mayor also had a gift for the president as he walked off of Air Force One. She said she gave him one of her lucky 'mayor chips.'

Goodman said the president said he'll return to Las Vegas soon with the First Lady.

President Obama spent a short afternoon in Las Vegas before heading to Los Angeles for a handful of campaign fundraisers.
