Here's some proof that women like a sensitive guy. Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. are all getting to know each other as they begin their first season together as judges on "American Idol," and Lopez, who was an 'Idol' judges for two seasons before embarking on a world tour during season 12, says she's been surprised to learn how emotional Keith is.
"I find that I'm like that and women are like that but to see a man so kind of in touch with that place it was really a pleasant surprise for me again," the singer tells the Associated Press. "People got to know him last year but I think they're gonna get to know him even more this year."
Change is in the air not only at the judges' table, but also in the show's format. Randy Jackson is still with the show but will be a mentor to contestants instead of a judge. In addition, the results show has been shortened to 30 minutes.
"There's a lot of subtle change everywhere," says Keith. "Not just with us but with the way the show looks, the way it feels."
Season 12 of "American Idol" premieres with a two-hour episode on Wednesday, Jan. 15, on FOX.
