Inside Edge: The hills are alive with Carrie (video); Kenny getting hitched?; Bootless George Strait helps military
Carrie Underwood is giving her full attention now to her live television presentation of The Sound of Music on December 5th on NBC. One of the songs she'll sing live is “The Lonely Goatherd,” which involves yodeling. Carrie says it's the one thing she isn't nervous about. “I can yodel. I don’t think you can necessarily learn it. I can just do it. I didn’t have to learn it. I am one of the blessed few.” Watch Carrie sing The Sound Of Music main theme below. Mobile users watch here.
A rumor is going around that Kenny Chesney is close to getting married again. A Nashville-based blog that has ties to Kenny's record label, Sony Music Nashville, posted that Kenny either got married or is going to soon. But a reliable source, close to Kenny, said Friday “no way” when asked if Kenny was about to take the plunge. The story seems to have started with an item on the fake news website www.mediamass.com.
George Strait took off his boots for our troops and sold them for $130,000 at a live auction over the weekend. George was attending the Troops First Foundation's golf tournament and auction at the golf course he co-owns in San Antonio when he took off his boots on the spot and added them to a package that was already up for grabs. We don't know what else was in the package, but does it really matter? The auction raised $425,000 (in 30 minutes, by the way) to benefit troops wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Add Luke Bryan to the list of artists to sell out Madison Square Garden. He did it in less than five minutes this weekend for a show there in January. Playing the iconic Garden is sure to make even the biggest superstar nervous, but that is exactly what Luke wants. On the latest edition of his webcast, LBTV, he says, "That's what you live for, you live for those moments of anxiety and nerves and that feeling of wanting to put on a great show." Luke says he knows when he's done it right. "Did we give it all we got, night in and night out? I think that's the definition of a successful tour." (Watch LBTV below. Mobile users click here)
