A woman has been permanently barred from the Memphis Zoo after she climbed over a barricade to get close to lions on Monday and tried to feed them cookies while singing to them. Only some wire fencing separated the woman from the lions once she breached the barrier.

“A witness said the unidentified woman was singing about how badly she missed the lions,” NBC News reports. The witness described the woman’s behavior as “bizarre.”
“Abbey Dane, a spokeswoman for the zoo, told NBC station WMC of Memphis that security officers previously noticed the same woman throwing something to the lions last week. She said the woman also tried to feed them cookies during that incident.”
Alarmed by her behavior, other zoo visitors called for help.
After the incident, her photo was distributed to zoo employees in case she tries to return.
“Dane said the woman's behavior posed a threat not only to herself, but also to the lions,” NBC reports.
The woman’s name has not been released.
