It is one of the hottest shows on TV and Wednesday night, "Modern Family" is hitting the road for a Las Vegas vacation.

The episode was actually shot back in January. It will feature, of course, all of the usual wackiness of "Modern Family."

The episode finds the Pritchett-Dunphy-Mitchell clan at the Mandalay Bay on the Las Vegas Strip where Jay (Ed O'Neill) becomes obsessed with scoring a room on the hotel's secret floor; Cam (Eric Stonestreet) sneaks off to a pool party; Phil (Ty Burrell) auditions for a secret society of magicians; and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) goes to a bachelor party.

In addition to the all the sneaking around, there are misunderstandings, more misunderstandings and giant misunderstandings.

The episode will feature two high-profile guest stars -- "Portlandia" star Fred Armisen and comedian Patton Oswalt.

The cast of "Modern Family" isn't just wacky on screen, they like to have fun off screen as well.

During the shooting, several cast members photobombed Sofia Vergara as she snoozed in between scenes. The photos were then posted to social media.

This isn't the only out-of-town trip for "Modern Family" this season. The three families also travel to Australia for another vacation episode which will air later this spring.

"Modern Family" is on ABC.
