Donald Sterling, once the owner of the L.A. Clippers before derogatory comments about minorities led him to be banned from the NBA, no longer has the team in his family's grasp.

The $2 billion sale of the Clippers became official on Tuesday, as it changes hands from the Sterling family to Steve Ballmer.

Per Buzzfeed:

As the team's own Twitter account said Tuesday:

According to TMZ Sports, Sterling was caught on tape back in April telling his mixed-race reported girlfriend, V. Stiviano, that he doesn't want her bring black people to his team's games.

After the discovery and authentication of the tape, new NBA commissioner Adam Silver banned him from owning the team.
