Reigning at No. 1, Disney's latest animation "Frozen" has freezed its box office competition, especially the latest "Paranormal Activity" debut.

"Featuring the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad, ['Frozen'] iced the competition and earned $20.6 million the first weekend of 2014," reports E! "Since its release on Nov. 22, 'Frozen' has grossed nearly $297.8 million domestically."

"Paranormal Activity" created its cult in 2007 as an independent feature. Paramount Pictures modified it and thus produced four installments. This fifth feature film is the first spin-off. A $5 million production, "'Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones,' debuted at No. 2 and made $18.2 million. The horror-thriller was the only new release this weekend," further says E!.

According to Fox News, "The start is relatively low for a 'Paranormal' film ('Paranormal Activity 4' earned $15.1 million opening night in 2012, $29 million opening frame.)"
