While city folk worry about the car in front of them while driving, it seems as though in small town Angoon, Alaska, the real collision nightmare is what's under them. While piloting a seaplane that is.

Watch above as a pilot narrowly misses landing on top of ... a whale!

"It was a mundane scene in the island community that's only accessible by boat or seaplane," reports CNN. Until witnesses on land started "pointing and yelling" as the pilot almost touched down on the water. The commotion caused the pilot to throttle and then land further from his original target.

Thomas Hamm just so happened to be recording the pilot's unusual landing and he later showed him the footage. The pilot shared with Hamm that he actually never saw the humpback whale under him, he allegedly just reacted to the crowd's chaotic signals.

"Right as the pilot pulled up, the whale breached, clearing his blowhole and drenching the plane's windshield," further reports CNN.
