Season-Ending Injury For Michael Rose

By Garrett Gordon. CREATED Aug 9, 2014

Lincoln, NE - The first week of practice couldn't end quick enough for the Huskers.  For the third time in as many days the Blackshirts lost a member for the season.

Bo Pelini announced that Michael Rose will miss the season with a knee injury.  It was a non-contact injury, and he will have surgery to correct the damage this week.  The news comes on the heels of LeRoy Alexander's suspension and Charles Jackson's season-ending knee injury.

All three guys were projected to be key contributors to the Huskers defense this season.  It would be easy for the Huskers to feel a little down, but Pelini thinks his team is just fine.  He said, "Our team morale is fine.  You guys will make more of it.  I feel for those kids.  But, as far as us going forward we've got a lot of good players.  We've got a lot of good competition.  We'll be just fine"

The Huskers will take Sunday off before returning to practice on Monday morning.
