Sheriff: Nikko Jenkins Is a Person Of Interest In Kruger Murder
Douglas County, NE - Sheriff Tim Dunning confirms to KMTV Action 3 News that Nikko Jenkins is a person of interest in the murder of the northwest Omaha mom.
Andrea Kruger was gunned down last month on her way home from work. Police found her body near the intersection of 168th and Fort Streets. Prior to Tuesday afternoon, police had not confirmed if Jenkins was a suspect, a person of interest, or questioned in the case. Sources had told KMTV Action 3 News that Jenkins had been questioned.
Last week, police arrested Jenkins for making terroristic threats in an unrelated case. The accuser says he threatened to kill her and her family, and send demons to her mother's house.
Jenkins appeared in court Tuesday afternoon on those charges. A judge set his bond at $500,000 dollars because of his criminal history, which includes carjacking. Police believe Kruger may have been carjacked on her way home from the Déjà Vu lounge.
This afternoon, Sheriff Dunning told KMTV Action 3 News his office is waiting for DNA results in the Kruger case, before proceeding with any charges against Jenkins. He said that could happen in the next week.
