OMAHA, NE- Richard Holland announced today the establishment of two new organizations focused on transforming the lives of Nebraska children and families in poverty.
The Holland Children's Movement will organize and inspire Nebraskans to take action on critical public policies that impact low-income families and successful learning.
The Holland Children's Institute will provide research and publications on the most effective practices and programs to reduce family and child poverty and improve academic achievement, and provide information to the community on poverty trends, its impact on the state and effective solutions.
The Holland Children's Movement Board of Directors is chaired by former U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey and includes Richard Holland and John Gottschalk, former publisher of the Omaha World Herald. The Holland Children's Institute Board of Directors is chaired by Richard Holland and includes Mary Ann Holland and Mike Yanney of Omaha, Chairman Emeritus of the Burlington Capital Group and Chairman of Building Healthy Futures.
