Homeless children get back-to-school haircuts

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - It was a busy day for workers at the Capitol School of Hairstyling Monday.

More than 50 homeless kids in need received free back-to-school hair cuts.

"It means a lot. It wasn't something that I could afford. Like I said earlier, she had an at-home hair cut, so this is a good fix for her to go in confident to school," said Danielle Tackitt.

Parents who wanted it also received a new hair style.

The Open Door Mission purchased two buses to take families to and from the hair school.

Kids who took part are also involved in the Open Door Mission's Summer of Hope Program.
