North Platte Couple Could Face Life in Prison For Child Porn
North Platte, Neb. (AP) - A North Platte couple could get life in prison if they're convicted of manufacturing child pornography.
The North Platte Telegraph reports that 31-year-old Billy Schrader and his girlfriend, 32-year-old Julia Thiemann, were arraigned in Lincoln County Court on Tuesday. They're charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child, felony child abuse, possession of child porn and four counts each of porn manufacturing.
Sheriff's investigators say several images of child pornography were found on a phone taken from the couple's home on Dec. 13.
Each deny the charges, but authorities say a child living in their home told investigators that Schrader had sex with her, and that Thiemann joined in the sexual acts and photographed her.
Schrader's and Thiemann's next court appearance in Jan. 20.
