Douglas County, Neb. (KMTV) - An alarming discovery was made inside a west Omaha home Wednesday afternoon.
The body of a mother and son were found after Douglas County Sheriff deputies went to check on the two when friends hadn't heard from the mother in days.
Deputies have identified the two as 54-year-old Maureen Flanagan and 18-year-old Cooper Flanagan.
"This morning saw everything roped off and went up and asked detectives and he said it's an ongoing investigation and couldn't tell me anymore than that." said Tom McFadden, who lives a few houses down from the Flanagans.
Douglas County deputies say they got a call Wednesday morning from a woman saying she hadn't spoken to Maureen since July 9.
Neighbors say she wasn't seen outside the house much.
"She was a very reclusive woman because of her disease and a very nice neighbor," said neighbor Jay Shattuck.
Deputies say they have an idea of what happened inside the house and are not looking for suspects.
They will not release any information about the manner of death until autopsies are performed Thursday.
