Every year we find Omahans who adopt teams to root for during the series. One woman we found on Monday has been pulling for Texas for decades.
"I''m from Omaha, but my heart is in Texas,” said Sherry Feagins.
Sherry Feagins may look like the world's biggest University of Texas fan, but her love for the Longhorns developed 850 miles from Austin here in Omaha.
“These Texas fans would come back and come back and we'd always look forward to them,” said Feagins.
Feagins recalls meeting some Texas fans nearly 40-years ago at the old Rosenblatt Stadium. Decades later she still looks forward to her annual visitors from the south.
"This gentleman Sonny I've been down at Texas baseball games and sat with him and Scotty, oh he drives the Cadillac usually with the big horns and all,” said Feagins.
The Texans get Feagins love for the Horns, but she says her Nebraska friends just don't understand, so she has a favorite comeback when getting hassled by Huskers.
"My hair could match my shirts, Cornhuskers can't have hair to match their shirts,” said Feagins.
Feagins says no matter where she lives she'll always root for the Longhorns.
“I'll always be a Texas baseball fan, you know you can't change after 38 years,” said Feagins.
