COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (KMTV) - Two Council Bluffs men are behind bars accused of attempted murder after shooting at two people in another vehicle.
Police say 26-year-old Luke Bird and 33-year-old Dustin Boetel pulled up beside two other men at the Walgreens pharmacy drive-thru lane at 535 Broadway and got into an argument.
Investigators said someone fired a shot at the victims’ car at the intersection of Harmony and Benton streets around 1 a.m. Wednesday.
The victims called 911 and the suspects took off, according to the Council Bluffs Police Department, leading police on a chase that ended when they lost control of their vehicle near 25th Street and West Broadway.
Officers say they found two rifles in their car and another rifle on the Broadway Viaduct, believed to have been tossed during the pursuit.
Bird and Boetel were booked on several charges, including attempted murder and drug possession.
The victim only suffered a graze wound and is expected to be okay.
Police say one of the suspects knew one of the victims.
The shooting is still under investigation.
