Omaha, NE - For the price of a short stack, families are helping rebuild Omaha playgrounds.

The Omaha Parks Foundation is raising money to make improvements at fifteen playgrounds in Omaha city parks. "This makes our community a great community," said Parks Foundation President Amber Miller.  "By having a great parks system, and that's what we're after, I'm sure when these fifteen parks are completed, there will be fifteen more that will be on the best and worst list."

The parks are in all four corners of the city:  Kingswood, TaHaZouka in Elkhorn, Elmwood, Standing Bear Lake, Zorinsky, Spring Lake, Benson, Park East, Albright, Grace Young, Schroder/Vogel, Cunningham Lake, Bemis, Hanscom and Yale parks.  Some parks need new equipment, others need to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The city of Omaha will match donations up to $50,000, the foundation will also look for corporate donors.

Longhorn Steakhouse donated the food and the staff for Saturday's pancake breakfast.
