Omaha, NE - Fire Crews reponded twice to a duplex fire. Once last night and then again early this morning. Arson investigators are now looking into both of these fires.

It happened at 55th & Spaulding. The first fire happened around 7 p.m. Wednesday night. It broke out in the basement of the first floor unit.A family of seven lived in the home and were taken to a hotel Wednesday. After smoke and flames destroyed much of their living area.

Then oddly enouch hours later another fire broke out Thursday morning around 5a.m. This time in the top unit.

Neighbors say the woman who lives there saw smoke and was able to make it out of the duplex unharmed. Firefighters are looking at hot spots. They were on the scene all morning making sure none of the hot spots are left.

The American Red Cross has been helping fire victims from these two fires, plus the third all morning. So far they've assisted 13 people.

"All of them have been put up in a hotel and then we have given some of them money for food and clothing," says Bill Dreyfus from the American Red Cross.

Investigators are looking into the cause of these fires.
