Kelly Bartnick joined KMTV Action 3 News in August 2013 as a 10 p.m. reporter, but he’s no stranger to the Plains States.
Kelly has developed a passion for telling stories that matter to viewers during his five years in the news business. Most recently, he came from Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he spent three years working for KELO-TV. As an an Emmy-nominated reporter who’s worked mornings, days, even overnights, Kelly contributed to the station's Emmy award-winning morning show that stayed on the air non-stop during the Missouri River floods of 2011. He also reported live for CBS from South Dakota’s Capital City, Pierre, during the devastating floods.
Kelly grew up on a farm in northeast South Dakota, and has a degree in Communications from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. He’s proud to call himself a new Nebraskan, and is eager to get out and explore all the state, and the City of Omaha have to offer.
In his free time he enjoys good food and time with friends. You’ll likely find him at one of Omaha’s many amazing restaurants, walking a trail, or just exploring neighborhoods like Dundee, Benson, and downtown’s Old Market.
If you see him out and about say hello, and if you have a story you’d like to share contact Kelly any time!
