It was meant to be a show of support -- a 9-year-old girl shaved her head in honor of her friend who is battling cancer.
Unfortunately, her school didn't see it that way, and when Kamryn Renfro showed up at Caprock Charter School in Colorado with a shaved head, she was told she couldn't come to school.
The school says it has a strict dress code and shaved heads are forbidden. They even sent home a letter explaining why they decided that Renfro could not attend class.
Of course, Kamryn's mom took to Facebook and social media went wild. Parents and others from across the state expressed their disgust with the school's decision to boot the third grader.
Because of the uproar, the school decided to call a special meeting on March 25 to discuss the situation and vote on a potential waiver.
In the meantime, Renfro is also being allowed to return to school.
