Bill Nye debates 'Evolution vs. Creation' Feb. 4

Bill Nye the "Evolution" Guy is visiting Petersburg, Ky., on Feb. 4. for a highly anticipated creation vs. evolution debate, "Is Creation a Viable Model of Origins," with Ken Ham, Creation Museum founder and Christian bestseller.

Eight-hundred $25 tickets sold out in less than 20 minutes. Hosted in the 900-seat Legacy Hall in Creation Museum, the debate is funded by Answers in Genesis, a Christian ministry founded by Ham, who is also the president and CEO.

Nye has remained extremely public in his belief that "creationism is not appropriate for children," as his YouTube video on the subject accumulated over six million views.

Ham, however, recorded a video of his own in reply. He also posted on his blog, "Because our ministry theme for 2013 and 2014 is 'Standing Our Ground, Rescuing Our Kids,' our staff thought that a debate on creation vs. evolution with a man who has influenced so many children to believe in evolution would be a good idea."

Beginning in 1993, Nye hosted the elementary-science television phenomenon "Bill Nye the Science Guy" for five years.

The live stream of Ham vs. Nye is free to view on YouTube after the debate. A DVD and digital download will be available for purchase soon after.
