Flights Diverted to Palm Springs Due to LAX Shooting
PALM SPRINGS - A total of 46 flights headed to Los Angeles were diverted Friday after a gunman opened fire at LAX, killing one TSA agent.
At least two Virgin America flights from the East Coast were re-routed to Palm Springs International Airport. Many of passengers described seeing the images of the shooting in-flight, while the flight crew announced that they couldn't fly into LAX, so they would have to be diverted.
"I keep thinking how horrible if my flight came in a little earlier, I would have been there for that. It was actually the same flight booth where we would have landed," expressed Jonathan Bee, whose flight was re-routed from New York to Palm Springs.
