COACHELLA VALLEY - During the end-of-the-year holidays when people are out celebrating, one drink can be too many for some people especially when getting behind the wheel.
Law enforcement officials across Riverside County will be out patrolling the streets starting Friday at 6 p.m. to keep the road safe from intoxicated drivers.
It's part of a coordinated campaign "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over".
The Avoid the 30 Task Force will have checkpoints and "saturation patrols" in specific areas. These anti-DUI operations will be conducted until midnight on New Year's Day.
Friday's checkpoints are scheduled in Beaumont, Corona, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Lake Elsinore, Murrieta, Riverside and Temecula.
