Thunderstorm Threat on Monday

The triple digit heat afflicting the Treasure Valley this weekend will end on Monday as a trough of low pressure swings through the region accompanied by monsoon moisture. This will bring mostly cloudy skies to the region and a small chance for showers and thunderstorms, especially in the mountains. The sun should return to the Treasure Valley by Monday evening as the trough lifts north. High temperatures in the Treasure Valley will range from the upper 80s to low 90s on Monday evening and muggy conditions can be expected. Tuesday will be mostly sunny and hot, with highs in the low 90s across the Treasure Valley.

Another round of showers and thunderstorms will move over Idaho on Wednesday. Treasure Valley highs temperatures will cool into the upper 80s as this front moves through. Mostly sunny skies will return to the region on Thursday with highs around 90 in the Treasure Valley.

Friday and Saturday will be marked by partly cloudy conditions across Idaho. High temperatures will remain around 90 in the Treasure Valley from Friday through Sunday. Mostly sunny skies will return on Sunday.
