The Idaho Steelheads stole game one of their Kelly Cup Western Conference Quarterfinals series Friday night, edging the Colorado Eagles 2-1.
Josh Robinson, who was named the starting goaltender just hours before puck-drop, stopped 42 of 43 shots and kept Idaho in the game for long stretches. The Steelheads were out-shot 43-25.
David De Kastrozza scored both Idaho goals. The first came on a powerplay early in the first period. The second broke a 1-1 tie with just 2:45 to play in the third period.
Game two of the best-of-seven series is Saturday night at CenturyLink Arena.
