The Boise State gymnasts and wrestlers will compete side-by-side for a second time this season at another "Beauty and the Beast" event at Taco Bell Arena on Saturday, March 8. The wrestlers rescheduled their dual with Oregon State for that date, while the gymnastic team has a regularly scheduled meet with Seattle Pacific.
The 11-3 gymnastics team is ranked 17th in the latest GymInfo national poll, but that's not quite good enough for coach Neil Resnick, who wants his ladies in the top-12. He says that's been the focus since the end of last season.
"It's our goal. Every day we fight in the gym, we're thinking of it. Every time we step out on the floor and compete, we're thinking of it," he said. "From week to week, you get online and see what everybody did and I think that fuels the fire through the week of practice."
The Bronco wrestlers are focused on Sunday's PAC12 Championships, where Boise State has been a runner-up each of the last two years. Greg Randall's team went just 3-8 in dual season, but the coach is optimistic about the conference championships.
"We've probably faced a lot of our opponents throughout the season and maybe we didn't end up on top, but this is a chance to redeem themselves," Randall explained. "I've always had a philosophy- nobody should beat you twice in the same season. It's possible we could pull quite a few upsets in that semi round."
