While The Hobbit isn't bad, it's just not nearly as good as the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Its 5 disc blu-ray release includes 3-D and 2-D versions, an extended version, and over nine hours of bonus features.
The Right Stuff - Warner Brothers - Rated PG
The epic 1983 film The Right Stuff celebrates its 30th anniversary with an wonderful two disc blu-ray release which includes a 40 page book, deleted scenes, commentary and five featurettes.
James Dean Ultimate Collector's Edition - Warner Brothers - Not Rated
The James Dean Ultimate Collector's Edition is just that - a wonderful collection of all three movies the iconic actor made in his brief career, remastered for blu-ray. It's a seven disc set with hours and hours of wonderful bonus features about the man and the legend. It's my Pick of the week!
White House Down - Sony - Rated PG-13
Silly but entertaining, White House Down requires checking your brain at the door. Extras include Four featurettes.
Under The Dome - CBS/Paramount - Not Rated
The intriguing miniseries Under The Dome comes to disc with 13 episodes on four discs along with deleted scenes, a gag reel and six featurettes.
Lovelace - Anchor Bay - Rated R
Heartbreaking and surprisingly touching, Lovelace features spectacular performances from Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard. Extras include a featurette.
Other releases this week include Season Six of Mad Men, Adam Sandler's awful Grown Ups 2, Kristen Wiig in Girl Most Likely and the Larry David HBO comedy Clear History.
