The Idaho Foodbank is dumping hunger for the sixth year in a row.
The foodbank got more than it bargained for when it comes to its post-holiday food collection goal.
Leaders at the Idaho Foodbank say January and February mark the lowest levels of food donations. “The Dump Hunger” campaign serves to boost donations during those months.
“Dump Hunger” comes at a perfect time of year we were trying to refill our shelves especially also after all of the holiday needs,” says Jennifer Johnson of the Idaho Foodbank.
“Dump Hunger” is a team effort by the Idaho Foodbank, Albersons, Western States, and Wells Fargo.
The campaign collected enough food to fill eight dump trucks and provided more than five hundred thousand meals.
