Local stroke survivors and their caregivers were able to enjoy some rehabilitation time on the greens at the First Annual Treasure Valley “Saving Strokes” event at the Banbury Golf Course in Eagle Tuesday.
About fifteen stroke survivors turned out for the event.
They were able to enjoy an hour-long group lesson with a golf pro, participated in chipping, putting and full-swing practice, and enjoyed a free breakfast.
Adaptive golf instruction was also available for those who needed help balancing or those who, because of their disability, were required to sit while still being able to golf.
The event was organized by the American Heart Association, the American Stroke Association and the Southwest Idaho Advanced Care Hospital.
