Mothers and children rally at Idaho Statehouse to raise awareness of maternity care
Mothers and children gathered outside the Idaho Capitol to raise awareness of maternity care in the United States.
The demonstrators say the U.S. is in crisis when it comes to care that women receive during child birth.
The group which runs under www.improvingbirth.org explained that women are not aware of their options and resort to C-sections which is often recommended by doctors.
Emalie Cobb who participated in the event explained that, “People don’t know their rights. They don’t know that there are other options besides getting an induction, a C-Section, or an epidural.”
Members say that nine out of 10 births are done in a way that increases risk to the woman and the baby.
