Frosted windows result in Kuna girl being hit by car
A Kuna man has been cited by police for inattentive driving after hitting a girl in a school crosswalk early Friday morning.
Police say that David Buchholz did not scrape the frost off the windows of his Chevy Blazer and had limited visibility when he hit the young girl who was walking her little brother to school.
Witnesses told police that the girl and her brother were in a crosswalk on the driveway of the school with a crossing guard present when the Blazer pulled in.
The crossing guard was able to move the boy out of the way but the Blazer hit the girl, knocked her down, and then proceeded to run over her right foot.
Buchholz stopped right away, and he and a passenger got out to find out what happened.
Witnesses helped the girl get to the curb. Paramedics arrived minutes later and took her to a local hospital for what appear to be non life-threatening injuries.
Sunrise was at 7:48 a.m. Friday morning - right around the time of the crash.
