Paul Walker will be replaced by his own brothers, Caleb and Cody, during the completion of filming for "Fast & Furious 7."
A statement was published to the official "Fast & Furious" Facebook account announcing this breaking casting news. Production was previously halted after Walker's death in a car crash on Nov. 30, 2013. The film was also thus pushed back from July 2014 to its new theatrical debut date of April 2015.
"The 'Fast & Furious' saga is about family. The characters are connected by the bond of family, and it is how all of us who have worked together for more than thirteen years feel about each other," reads the Facebook post. "Our family experienced an unthinkable shock in November. We had to take time to grieve Paul, the brother we love and lost, and to figure out if we should move on with our film."
The statement continues to share that Walker had already shot his "dramatic scenes" and that production has finally resumed. However, for the scenes that remain unfinished involving Walker's character "Brian O'Conner," Walker's brothers will be filling in.
"Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too," further notes the Facebook post.
The Hollywood Reporter has additionally confirmed that Walker's character will "retire" in the film, instead of being killed off.
