Leopard bursts through roof, attacks men

A terrified leopard sprang through the tile roof of a house in Western Indian where it had been hiding on Monday and chased a group of men who appeared to be trying to capture it. One of the fleeing men was bitten on the buttocks by the animal as he tried to escape.

The whole incident was witnessed by a large crowd looking on from nearby rooftops, including one spectator who captured the incident on video from an adjacent rooftop. (Watch it above.)
That video “shows the animal pushing through the broken tiled roof of a home in Ballarpur, Maharashtra, and chasing several men in its way,” reports Fox News. “Another villager on the scene was attacked as people tried to corner the leopard, but no serious injuries were reported.”
The camera follows the leopard as it jumps from the roof and eventually takes cover in a bathroom, peering out from its hiding spot with frightened-looking eyes.
Fox News reports that “India's Forestry Department eventually caught the animal and plans to release it into the wild.” At the end of the video, you can see the caged and obviously tranquilized leopard after its capture.
According to Fox news, “Illegal deforestation has imperiled the habitats of many animals in India, forcing them to wander around searching for food. Over-development of forest land has also become a threat to many wild animals in the country.”
