The Jonas Brothers have made it official: the sibling trio has broken up. Following a statement three weeks ago that "a deep rift within the band" was causing a huge disagreement about their musical direction, Kevin, Joe and Nick canceled a 19-city tour.
Now each of them has made a very brief confirmation of the split, with People quoting Kevin, 25, saying, "It's over for now." "It was a unanimous decision," says Joe, 24. Meanwhile, the youngest of the group, 21-year-old Nick, also seems to offer the one (albeit faint) glimmer of hope for fans awaiting their return. "It's really hard to say 'forever,'" he notes. "We're closing a chapter, for sure."
The threesome also shuttered the band's Twitter account, while their individual accounts remain active. In a People magazine story due on newsstands Friday, the brothers address the break-up. Joe also shares his reaction to false reports he was battling a drug problem.
At the time of the split, the brothers were working on the as-yet-unreleased album, "V."
