Illinois woman arrested after posting selfie in stolen dress
Some people love to show off their new clothes online, even when they are stolen.
Danielle Saxton, 27, of Illinois recently posted a sassy selfie featuring a very distinctive neon leopard print dress.
The dress had been stolen, along with a few other items, just hours before from a boutique in downtown West Frankfort.
Kert Williams, who is a co-owner of Mortie's Boutique, reviewed the store's surveillance tape and then posted about the theft on Facebook.
Facebook users who saw his post and Saxton's selfie put two and two together and turned the brazen criminal in.
According to ABC affiliate WSIL-TV, Saxton had the clothes in her hand when the police arrived on her doorstep. She was immediately placed under arrest. Local police later found out that she was also wanted in Jackson County. This isn't the first time the store has used surveillance tape and social media to chase down crooks. Three other female shoplifters were busted prior to Saxton's arrest.
Saxton is currently free on her own recognizance.
