Police were called to a Daytona Beach, Florida, residence just after 1 p.m. on Friday, after a father walked into his apartment to find a 18-year-old family member sexually assaulting his 12-year-old child.
"The father told police he took physical action towards [Raymond] Frolander to prevent him from leaving the scene before police could arrive," reports News 13. "Police observed Frolander laying on the living room floor with bruises on his face and bleeding from his mouth."
The young victim was playing video games with friends, with Frolander present. However, when the friends left, Frolander began the assault.
"The child told investigators that Frolander asked him to sit on his lap, and not too much later, took the boy into the back room of the apartment," News 13 details. "According to the police report, Frolander disrobed the child, and began sexually battering the victim."
The victim has since claimed that Frolander began abusing him when the victim was 8 years old.
According to News 13, "When you're 8 years old, you're supposed to be out running around the street riding your bike, playing ball, playing video games," Daytona Beach Police Chief Michael Chitwood said in statement. "Not worrying when a 15, 16, 17, 18-year-old comes near you, you know what's going to happen when he comes near you and touches you. You know what's going to happen when you're alone with him."
Frolander has admitted to sexually abusing the child. He has no prior record of sex crimes, however, he was denied bond. Frolander is being charged with sexual battery of a child.
