Music piracy is so rampant that, in a sign of the times move, Billboard releases year-end lists of not only the top-selling artists of the year, but also the artists whose music is most often ripped off. Topping the latter list, compiled by data analysis firm Musicmetric, is Bruno Mars, followed closely by Rihanna.

Mars' had nearly 5.8 million downloads stolen in 2013, while Rihanna's piracy figure was 5.4 million downloads. Taking third place on the list is Daft Punk, with 4.2 million downloads, Billboard reports. Rounding out the top five are Justin Timberlake with 3.9 million downloads and Flo Rida with 3.5 million downloads.
"Musicmetric's numbers represent albums and tracks downloaded using BitTorrent, a protocol for peer-to-peer file sharing that enables the transfer of large files," Billboard reports, adding this chilling bit of news: "BitTorrent activity can easily approach or exceed legal download activity."
Following is the top 20 BitTorrent artists in 2013, as tracked by Musicmetric.
