TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A large vintage travel trailer was destroyed by a fire on Thursday morning.

Capt. Adam Goldberg with Northwest Fire District tells KGUN9 that crews responded to the Valley of the Sun Mobile Home Park in the 13300 block of North Sandario just before midnight.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a travel trailer fully involved.

Goldberg says that early detection from neighbors, along with the quick response, kept the fire from spreading to a large five wheel toy hauler/camper trailer parked within 5 feet of the burning trailer.

The trailer was being stored at the mobile home park while the owner was preparing for a project to restore the trailer to its original condition, said Goldberg.

There were no occupants living in the trailer at the time of the fire. However, a large amount of personal belongings stored within the trailer were lost in the fire.

Damage estimates including contents were approximately $1,000.

Goldberg says the cause of the fire is currently under investigation and there were no injuries reported during the incident.
