TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - In an emotional overtime loss to Wisconsin Saturday night, Arizona Wildcats fans exploded onto University Avenue in what police called an unlawful assembly.

Nine On Your Side was on scene as fans threw firecrackers, fireworks and cans of liquid at officers on duty. Play the video above for a good look at the scene.

Tucson Police fired back with 200 rounds of pepperballs, which are plastic rounds that break open and release a small amount of pepper spray.

Police also unleashed 20 foam batons, nine pepper canisters and two larger, plastic and rubber rounds that are targeted toward specific individuals.

In all, 15 people were arrested for disorderly conduct, unlawful assembly or resisting arrest. Out of the 15, police cited and released 14 and booked one person into Pima County Jail.

Police say five people complained of minor injuries, three of which had been arrested. No officers were hurt and there is no significant property damage.

All students arrested will also have to deal with University of Arizona Police and the Dean of Students for further disciplinary action.
