Green Valley toddler accidentally shoots father in buttocks
GREEN VALLEY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A 36-year-old man was sent to the hospital Monday after his 3-year-old son accidentally shot him in the buttocks.
Green Valley Fire Battalion Chief Tom Louis tells KGUN9 the father was target shooting in a desert area southeast of I-19 and the Canoa Road Exit.
The 3-year-old shot his father in the buttocks with a .22 rifle.
The father was able to drive himself to the Canoa Road exit where he called 911. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The 3-year-old was not injured and there were no other reported injuries.
Louis says this incident shows the importance of taking extra caution when children are around guns.
