Teachers get free pets in August

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Pima Animal Care Center is offering free pets this month for anyone who works as a teacher.

The back-to-school offer extends to teachers, professors, teaching assistants and tutors.

Licensing fees, which are $15 a year for dogs, will still apply.

Anyone else looking to adopt a pet can do so for $35 plus the cost of licensing fees.

That $35 includes spay/neuter surgery, shots and microchipping as well.

Puppies under the age of three months are $85.

The Pima Animal Care Center is open from Noon until 7 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
