TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Police have arrested a man after he stole a computer tablet from the Tucson Fire Department as they were treating an individual having a seizure.

Tucson Police tell KGUN9 the incident took place on August 10 after Tucson Fire was called to the LAOS Transit Center at 205 West Irvington Road to assist a man having a serious medical issue.

As TFD approached the victim, they set their equipment down and began treating the man who was having an active seizure. That is when a suspect grabbed TFD's computer tablet and fled southbound on foot.

Officers responded and were given the description of the suspect.

An officer located a subject matching the description, holding something under his shirt near the intersection of 11th and Utah.

The man immediately fled on foot and jumped a fence behind a business.  That is when the officer saw the computer tablet fall from his waistband.

The suspect, 27-year old Joseph Lesperance, was detained without incident.  He was booked and charged with one count of theft.

The computer tablet was returned to TFD without damage.
