Regents report highlights wages of degree-holders
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - A report released by the Arizona Board of Regents shows college degree-holders in the state make more money than other workers.
But the Arizona Daily Sun reports the wages of Northern Arizona University graduates lag behind those of Arizona State University and University of Arizona.
The areas where NAU graduate degree-holders earned more per year than their ASU and UA counterparts were in education and public administration and social service.
According to the report, engineering was the top-earning field for graduate degree-holders from all three state universities.
The median income in 2012 for a NAU grad in the engineering field was more than $72,000. That's well below the median for ASU and UA grads at more than $82,000 and nearly $80,000 respectively.
