Phoenix fire sends up plume of black smoke - 2 injured
PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix firefighters are now mopping up an oil fire at an oil tanker business that sent up a massive plume of black smoke over the city.
About 20 engines and ladder trucks were dispatched. Television footage showed firefighters shooting water and foam at the flames and the smoke plume gradually dissipated.
The Fire Department says two people have been taken to a hospital which has a burn unit.
Nearby Sky Harbor International Airport temporarily shut down its north runway but spokeswoman Heather Lissner says that's not causing delays. Flights are using two other runways.
However, the light rail system reports delays because some of its tracks are near the blaze.
