TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Pamela Phillips trial will resume today at the Pima County Superior Court.
During opening arguments last week, prosecutors painted Phillips as a manipulative and materialistic woman who masterminded the death of her former husband, Gary Triano.
Though her defense maintains Phillips was duped by the shady real estate investor, and that his death was not the product of her ill will.
Triano was killed after golfing at the La Paloma County Club, when his vehicle exploded on November 1st, 1996.
Nearly 18 years later, his ex-wife is charged with first degree murder and conspiring to kill him.
Phillips' ex-lover, Ronald Young, has already been convicted of planting the pipe bomb in Triano's Lincoln that day. Young is currently serving a life sentence for the crime.
Phillips too, faces life in prison, if found guilty of masterminding Gary Triano's death.
The trial is expected to last at least six weeks.
