NWS issues multiple flood advisories for Pima County
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a small stream flood advisory for parts of Pima County.
The flood advisory affects northeastern Pima County until 3:45 p.m. Friday.
The NWS is tracking heavy rainfall pouring over the eastern slopes of the Catalina Mountains.
Runoff from this heavy rainfall could cause flooding in small streams, walking paths and other low lying areas.
A flood advisory is also in effect for east-central Pima County, which includes the towns of Green Valley and Sahuarita.
This advisory will remain in effect until 5:45 p.m. Friday.
Runoff from rain falling in between Green Valley and Sahuarita, west of Interstate 19, could cause localized flooding on roadways and in washes and low-lying areas.
This storm could dump up to 1.5 inches of rain. Motorists should use caution when driving through flooded roadways.
