A young man died after crashing his motorcycle on Tucson's eastside Monday night.
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A man is dead after he crashed his motorcycle on the eastside Monday night.
Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call about a motorcyclist who was struck by a vehicle near Valencia Road and Kolb Road just after 10:30 p.m. Monday, according to Deputy Jesus Banuelos with the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
Once on scene, deputies located 20-year-old Ryan James Caughie, unresponsive and lying in the roadway, Banuelos said.
Emergency medical personnel responded and attempted to revive Caughie. They transported him to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
Traffic detectives later responded to investigate the cause of the accident. They determined that Caughie was headed northbound on Kolb Road when he struck a vehicle that was making a left turn onto Valencia, Benuelos said.
At this time, deputies do not believe that alcohol was a factor in this accident, but the investigation is ongoing.
