TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) --If you're downtown Thursday, you may catch your first glimpse of the modern streetcar.
Streetcar crews started testing at 8 a.m.
The car pulled out from the Operational Maintenance Facility and headed west toward I-10.
Streetcar officials said the test runs are just as much about making sure the car runs safely, as they are a chance for drivers to get used to sharing the road.
Slow speed brake testing is expected to last most of Thursday.
Thursday's run is just another milestone, with the first car hitting the tracks on the west side of the route.
The city will go through this testing process with each of the eight streetcars.
