Identity thieves target college students as new school year set to begin
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - An alert for students heading back to college. Identity thieves are targeting them now more than ever.
The Better Business Bureau says 21 percent of identity theft victims are young adults.And what's worse it usually takes 18-24 year olds the longest to figure out their identiy is stolen. That's about 132 days.
Experts recommend students monitor credit card statements and be aware of suspicious emails. The BBB says students should check their credit report at least once a year. Click here to do that for free.
