Drug arrest made after traffic stop
ST. DAVID, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A 49-year-old California woman has been arrested and charged following a traffic stop in St. David.
Carol Capas with the Cochise County Sheriff's Office tells KGUN9 that on August 7, members of the newly formed S.A.B.R.E. (Southeastern Arizona Border Region Enforcement Team) conducted a traffic stop on a recreational vehicle on Sibyl Road and Highway 80 near St. David.
The investigators discovered the vehicle was transporting 462 pounds of marijuana and the driver was arrested and booked into the Cochise County Jail, while the vehicle was impounded, said Capas.
Cynthia Leroux, 49, of California, was charged with one count of transportation of marijuana and two counts of possession of marijuana.
The investigation is being continued by the SABRE team.
